When you think of Norway, you think impressive mountains, beautiful lakes and of course Fjords. To discover all of the above we headed out of Oslo and our road trip began.

We were headed west to our first destination: Husfjell, a mountain with a beautiful view on a lake. The perfect destination for a picture stop!!! whoohoo! So after we took a billion pictures we started looking for a camping spot. Our initial idea was to go wild camping, since you have "the right to roam" in Norway and you can basically sleep anywhere as long as it is a 100 meters removed from houses. THIS was our first mistake. It appeared to be not as easy as we thought it would be. So after driving around the lake for an hour we settled for a paid camping spot. When we told the owner we just had a tent he laughed at us, at that moment we didn't know why, but we were about to find out...
We set up our beautiful luxurious tent for the night and took dinner. When we finished dinner the cameras came out again and we started making pictures from sunset until we could see the stars. We could clearly see several constellations like the big bear and Severus.

So after we had captured the whole galaxy we went to sleep and at that moment we realized, oh boy, that WINTER WAS COMING, and our Norwegian friends were not lying about it. Camping appeared to not have been the right choice as the temperatures went down to 6 degrees Celsius and we were freezing all night. By the morning I felt more like an ice cube than a human.
So after this night that made me feel more like I was camping on the North pole. I called the help desk at home to book us a hotel or hostel or basically anything that was inside and had a bed. With these good prospects we continued our journey and traded "foggy lake" for the beautiful fjords of Norway. The journey there however was a bit special.
On the way to Lysefjord I got the idea that Norway has more sheep than actual inhabitants. As we were making our way through the mountains on the small bendy roads, we were constantly interrupted by these fluffy creatures chilling on the side of the road, or just straight up in the middle of the road. Nonetheless the road through "sheepy mountain" was beautiful and we got some nice views on the fjord.

In the evening we completely crashed at our hotel and went to bed after a very elaborate shower. Only to get up really early the next morning. Why? We were going to climb Preikestolen!
Preikestolen (or Pulpit rock in English) is a 600 meter high steep cliff. The top is almost completely flat and offers a marvelous view on the Lysefjord. Since it is quite easy to access, Preikestolen is one of Norway's most visited tourist attractions.
We got up at 6 and enjoyed our royal breakfast, before we headed for the Preikestolen. We slowly made our way to the top taking pictures on every spot with a view, after 2 hours we finally made it to the top with the most epic view from the whole trip. We walked to the edge and looked down at a 600 meter drop, and all I could think about was "Liesje, don't trip you little idiot". So after the last pictures it was time to walk down and go back to this lovely city called Oslo.
On our way back we got company from an 18 year old girl who was hitchhiking through Europe. She was from New Zealand, and probably one of the bravest people I have ever met. She had been traveling all alone since January. Compared to her, we have never been alone, in contrary of what we thought and now we have each other!
UP TO THE NEXT ADVENTURE!
Thank you Marie & Carolina for the amazing pictures and the even more awesome trip :-D
